Worktops
Corian is a blend of minerals and acrylic, which creates a stone hard surface that, can be shaped to meet any design requirement, which can include moulding the sink to the top so as to form a seamless joint. Marks and stains can be easily removed with household cleaner and corian is also resistant to high temperatures. This is why corian is used widely in retail outlets due to its hygienic properties.
Granite is waterproof, stain resistant and practically impossible to scratch. Its diamond polished surface keeps it looking pristine for years. As for cleaning it is simply a matter of wiping down with a damp cloth as it is a very practical surface for hot pans and everyday kitchen activities.
Laminate worktops come in a variety of colours and are normally the most popular due to price as these are the cheapest of all the tops available and the most common. To complement the laminate tops edge profiles can be added in the style of solid wood and even matching splash backs can be added instead of tiles.
Marble is a less hardwearing surface and is more porous than Granite but its features are less granular and has an even veined colour for a softer look. Both come in a large selection of colours to suit each application.
Solid wood work surfaces are tailor made to any application and come in a wide variety of woods. Solid timber tops add natural warmth to any application but do require some looking after, as it is still a living material and will mature with years of use.
